Multilingual Writing workshop for thirsty souls who want to use their words to change their lives and the world.

Who? Open to anyone passionate about writing – 10 writers max-
How? We’ll apply the Amherst Writer’s & Artist writing Method (AWA) created by writer and educator Pat Schneider in Amherst Massachusetts.
The workshop process and the learning that happens is based on supportive, encouraging responses. The best learning occurs when our confidence grows through being told what we are doing well and hearing what can be strengthened without shaming.
Rules for the workshop will be shared at the start of each session. Will generate one new piece of writing in each session, be it a poem, short story, essay, etc.
The Facilitator.- Raquel Ruiz works as an independent writer in print journalism. She is a freelancer of the prestigious news agency Associated Press, as well as the largest Spanish newspaper chain in the US, Impremedia. She writes for the magazine Expansión in México and for ECOS in Germany. In previous years she worked in film, television and radio. Her creative writing has been published in the San Antonio, Texas, “Film Festival” magazine, in the San Antonio Express News, in the magazine La Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, among other media. She has read her poems in Austin, San Antonio, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Sacramento. In 2009 she traveled to Amherst, Massachusetts to train as a facilitator of the Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) method in the hands of its creator Pat Schneider. Since then she only leads groups in this method, since it was the one that changed her life as a writer forever. In 2010 she finished the Creative Writing certification at UC Davis.
